Using Mollie payments within Easyflor
Setting up Mollie for online payments on the webshop
Introduction: What is Mollie?
Mollie is an online payment system that allows customers to pay directly on your webshop before they receive their products. It works like paying in a regular online shop: customers choose their products, go to checkout, pay online (with iDEAL, credit card, etc.), and only then are the products shipped.
Why use Mollie?
You want to use Mollie because:
- Customers pay directly before you ship products
- You don't risk customers not paying
- It's professional and trusted by online shoppers
- Customers can use multiple payment methods (iDEAL, credit card, PayPal, etc.)
- It's safe for both you and the customer
- You have certainty of payment before shipping goods
- It works automatically (no more manual invoices)
Note: There are other payment systems, but Mollie is supported by default in Easyflor and is therefore the easiest choice.
How do you set up Mollie?
Setup is done in two main steps: first you need to create a Mollie account, and then you need to link Mollie to Easyflor.
Step 1: Creating a Mollie account
Before you can use Mollie in Easyflor, you first need a Mollie account.
Requesting a Mollie account
To the Mollie website
- Go to https://www.mollie.com/nl
- You're now on the Mollie website
- Click "Sign up" or "Create free account"
Create account
- Fill in your business details:
- Company name
- Chamber of Commerce number
- Contact details
- Bank account number (where the money should go)
- Follow the steps on the Mollie website
- Confirm your email address
- Mollie verifies your details (this can take 1-2 working days)
Get Mollie API key
After approval you get access to your Mollie dashboard:
- Log in to your Mollie account
- Go to "Developers"
- Click on "API keys"
- You now see two types of keys:
- Test API key: For testing (starts with "test_...")
- Live API key: For real payments (starts with "live_...")
- Copy the Live API key (you need this for Easyflor)
Important: Keep this key safe! You need it for the next step.
Step 2: Linking Mollie to Easyflor
Now you'll link Mollie to your Easyflor system. You need to do this in two places.
Option A: Let Easyflor BV do it for you (Recommended)
The easiest way:
- Send your Mollie API key to Easyflor BV
- Easyflor BV sets everything up for you
- You don't have to do anything yourself
- Everything is correctly configured
Contact Easyflor BV:
- Send an email or call support
- Pass on your Mollie API key
- Easyflor BV configures both locations for you
- You receive notification when it's done
Option B: Setup yourself (For advanced users)
If you want to do it yourself, you have to fill in the Mollie key in two different places in Easyflor.
⚠️ IMPORTANT: If you do this yourself, you must fill in both locations. If you forget one, Mollie won't work properly!
Location 1: Admin → Configuration → Mollie
To the first location
- Go to "Admin"
- Click on "Configuration"
- Find and click on "Mollie"
- You now see the Mollie configuration screen
Fill in API key
- Find the field for "API key" or "Mollie key"
- Paste here your Live API key that you got from Mollie
- Example: live_1234567890abcdefghijklmnopqrstuv
- Click "Save"
Extra settings (optional):
- Webhook URL (usually filled in automatically)
- Payment methods you want to offer
- Other Mollie settings
Check:
- Check if the key is correctly saved
- No error messages? Then it worked
- Continue to location 2
Location 2: Shop (New) → Mollie
To the second location
- Go to the "Shop (New)" tile
- Click on "Mollie" (in the menu or configuration)
- You see another Mollie configuration screen
Fill in API key (again)
- Find the field for "API key" or "Mollie key"
- Paste here the same Live API key as in location 1
- This must be exactly the same key!
- Click "Save"
Extra webshop settings:
- Which payment methods are visible on the webshop
- Payment page settings
- Other shop-specific Mollie options
Check:
- Check if the key is correctly saved
- Both locations now have the same key
- No error messages? Done!
Step 3: Testing
Now that Mollie is set up, you must test if it works.
Make a test order
- Go to your webshop (as if you were a customer)
- Add a product to the shopping cart
- Go to checkout
- You should now see payment options (iDEAL, credit card, etc.)
- Choose a payment method
- Make a test payment
Note: For a real test you need the Test API key (otherwise you really pay money). Ask Easyflor BV for help with testing.
What should work:
- Payment options are visible
- You're redirected to the payment page
- After payment you return to your webshop
- The order is registered
- You see the payment in your Mollie dashboard
Done! Mollie now works on your webshop.
