Managing front page - Creating and setting up
Setting up the front page of the webshop
Introduction: What is the front page of the webshop?
The front page (also called homepage or start page) is the first page customers see when they visit your webshop. It's like the shop window of a store: this is where you make a first impression. You decide yourself what's on it: special offers, new products, welcome text, or whatever you want to show.
Why set up a front page?
You want to set up a front page because:
- It's the first impression customers get of your webshop
- You can determine what customers see first
- You can spotlight special promotions or new products
- It looks professional and clear
- You can directly guide customers to what's important
- It makes your webshop more personal
- You have control over the layout and content
Without front page: Customers come directly to the product overview (often not very nice). With front page: Customers see a nice welcome page with your message.
How do you set up a front page?
Setup is done in two steps: first you create a page, and then you set this page as the start page of your webshop.
Step 1: Creating a front page
First you need to create a new page that will serve as front page.
Go to pages menu
Open page management
- Go to the "Shop (New)" tile or wherever your webshop settings are
- Find and click the "Pages" button
- You now see an overview of all pages you've created (can be empty if you have no pages yet)
Create new page
Create page
- Click "New" (usually at the top of the screen)
- A screen opens to create a new page
Fill in name and title
You need to fill in two things:
1. Name:
- This is the internal name you see in Easyflor
- For example: "Homepage 2025" or "Front page winter"
- Choose something recognizable for yourself
- Customers don't see this
2. Title:
- This is the title that appears at the top of the browser
- Customers see this in their browser tab
- For example: "Welcome to Bloemen Jansen" or "Flower webshop De Roos"
- Choose something catchy and professional
Example:
- Name: Homepage spring 2025
- Title: Welcome to Bloemen Jansen - Fresh flowers online
Save page
- Click "Save"
- The page is now created
- You see it appear in the list of pages
Add page content (later)
Note: You've now created an empty page. Later you can add content like:
- Texts
- Images
- Products
- Promotions
- Other elements
You do this by opening the page and editing it. But first we need to set the page as the start page.
Step 2: Setting page as start page of the webshop
Now you'll link the page you've created to your webshop as THE start page.
To configuration
Open configuration menu
- Go back to the main menu of "Shop (New)"
- Find and click the "Configurations" button (or "Configuration")
- You now see all settings for your webshop
Choose the right configuration
If you have multiple webshops, you need to choose the right one:
- Find the "Name" of your webshop in the list
- Click on the name of the webshop you want to set the front page for
- The configuration opens
Tip: Do you have only one webshop? Then there's only one option.
Set start page
Link front page
- Find the "Start page" field in the configuration
- Click on this field (it's a dropdown menu)
- You now see a list of all pages you've created
- Select the front page you created in step 1
- For example: click on "Homepage spring 2025"
Save
- Click "Save" at the bottom
- The setting is now active
- Your front page is linked to the webshop
Done! Your webshop now has a front page.
Step 3: Add page content (optional)
Now that the page is set, you probably want to add content to it.
Edit page
- Go back to "Pages"
- Find your front page in the list
- Click on it to open it
- Click on "Edit" or a similar button
What can you add?
- Text: Welcome message, explanation, information
- Images: Banner, photos, logos
- Products: Featured products, bestsellers
- Buttons: Links to categories or special pages
- Blocks: Different sections with info
Example content:
- Big banner: "Welcome to Bloemen Jansen"
- Text: "Fresh flowers directly from the grower"
- Featured products: 6 popular products
- Button: "View our full assortment"
Save and check
- Save the page after editing
- Go to your webshop to check how it looks
- Adjust if needed

- The title is what customers see in their browser
- Use your company name
- Be clear about what you sell
- Example: "Bloemen Jansen - Fresh flowers online"
Tip 3: Test on different devices
- Check how your front page looks on computer
- Also check on mobile and tablet
- Make sure it's readable everywhere
Tip 4: Keep it simple
- Not too much text on the front page
- Clear navigation to products
- Focus on what's important
Tip 5: Update regularly
- Adjust your front page per season
- Update with new promotions

Tip 6: Create multiple pages
- Make multiple front pages for different purposes
- You can easily switch which one is active
- Useful for promotions, seasons, or testing
